
This years annual dinner will take place at the Crowne Plaza
Hotel, in Liverpool. It has a spectacular position close to the
Royal Liver Building and overlooking the Mersey. Please refer to

It has a high reputation for formal dinners and is well situated
for a base to see what our city has to offer.
We shall welcome as our guest speaker His Honour Judge John Roberts
who is a witty and highly entertaining speaker.
Other guests include the Principal, Hans Broekman, who will also
speak, the Chairman of the Governing Body, the Chairman of the
London Society and its Secretary.
All OLs are welcome, but, unlike the Gala Dinner in 2008 this will
not be an occasion for spouses or partners as well.
Dress Code: Black tie/evening dress
Menu:
Trio of Salmon - smoked, poached, mousse with bellini and salad;
Saddle of Welsh Lamb, sauté potatoes and sugar snap peas;
Belgium Chocolate Truffle Torte;
Coffee and accompaniments.
Alternative Vegetarian menu:
Goats Cheese and Red Pesto Crostini; Vegetable "Bangers"
with mashed potato and red onion gravy.
Cost:
£42
but a concessionary rate of £25 will be available to members
who have left from 2004 onwards or who are still in full-time
education.
Bar:
Besides a cash bar, wine can be ordered at the table.
The bar will remain open until 1.00am
Accomodation:
A number of rooms have been set aside on a first come first served
basis as reserved accommodation for anyone attending the dinner, at
a preferential rate of £115 for double or twin-bedded rooms
including breakfast.

Early booking is advisable.

In the past it has become common for late bookings to be made but
this hampers the organisation of the event and so please make and
pay for the reservation no later than 3 October 2009.
Tables are round for 10 people. If you are organising a party for a
whole table, please make this clear.
Tickets will not be issued.
